Pre-requirements:

1. Trial Azure Service: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/free-trial/

3. Public Domain: I use GoDaddy – very good services

4. Public CA: I use Digicert for Wildcard CA & StartSSL for Office Web Apps Server

5. Public IP:

  • Reverse Proxy IP: 104.215.194.35
  • Edge IP: 104.215.193.217

6. Mobile Devices: 1 WP 8.1 + 1 iOS

7. Lync Server 2013 Planning Tool or https://lyncvalidator.com

8. Estimated time to complete set up 10 hours

Key steps:

Assumption you already have Public Domain, Public CAs and Azure Subscription!

A. Planning for SfB DNS Records (for Exchange not focus – I think it’s easy job for youSmile)

B. Create Azure VMs

  1. Create Network
  2. Create Cloud Services
  3. Create Storage
  4. Create VMs

C. Install VMs Roles (supported Edge Role in Azure – just for test lab purpose)

Good luck to you:)

Thanks all the resources from you guys!

I had used these great sources for my lab:

1. Technical diagrams for Skype for Business Server 2015

2. Multiple VM NICs and Network Virtual Appliances in Azure

3. VIRTUAL MACHINE WITH MULTIPLE NICS IN AZURE STUCK IN RUNNING (PROVISIONING) OR RUNNING (PROVISIONING TIMED OUT) (Thanks Viorel Iftode – without you I could not finish my lab)

4. Lync 2013 – DNS Settings

5. Installing Exchange Server 2013 Pre-Requisites on Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2012 R2

6. Publish Lync 2013 with 2012 R2 Preview Web Application Proxy

7. Digicert

8. StartSSL
